Agnes Nikkel Ott was born on April 14, 1943 in Friesland, Paraguay, South America. She was the 10th child of thirteen children born to Peter and Margaretha Nikkel (Born). At the age of 10 the family moved to Brazil settling in Guarituba, Parana. Her childhood was a joyous childhood. She also learned early in life how to work hard and built a strong work ethic which was evident throughout her life.
Agnes married Jacob Ott on February 27th, 1965 and together they welcomed 3 sons into their family. Ron in 1966, Armin in 1968 and Carl in 1970. Jacob and Agnes provided for their children and taught them to love God and be kind to everyone. After the passing of their son Armin in 1979 the family immigrated to Canada settling in Abbotsford, BC.
King Road MB Church became their place of worship and where they met and nurtured many friendships. Jacob and Agnes enjoyed camping and fishing and took many trips over the years especially in their retirement.
On February 23, 2022 Agnes had a significant stroke that left her with the inability to use her right arm and leg. She worked hard to regain their use but it was not to be. Agnes had numerous trips to the emergency due to complications that arose from the stroke. Agnes passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on the evening of February 19, 2025.
Agnes is predeceased by her son Armin and leaves behind her husband Jacob of 60 years and her children Ron (Lydia) and Carl.
