Tribute

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing into Glory our beloved father, Pastor Alahyar Mirzaei-Kakavandi on March 10 2022 at Abbotsford regional hospital at the age of 103 1/2 years.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years Marta Estadi.  He is survived by his four daughters, Mehri ( Dan ), Parvin ( Mark ) Feresthe ( Saeed ), and Nasrin ( Farzad ). His four grandchildren, Shafa, Tina, Cameron and Jasmin and great granddaughter Tara.  As a young boy, he lost his father and had to support his mother and siblings so he went to work for the missionaries in his town. Through that work he gave his life to the Lord and trained as a pastor. After he was ordained, he was a pastor for many churches throughout Iran. During the revolution, he managed to escape and live in Germany where he planted a church for the Iranian Christians there. He then made his way here to Abbotsford with the help of Grace Church and was joined by his wife and three daughters as the fourth was married and living in the US. He managed to plant an Iranian church in North Vancouver and helped other pastors with whatever way he could, but due to his age and distance from Abbotsford, he gave the church over to others in the area but on occasion went back to deliver a sermon at times. As a devoted man of God, he gave of himself whatever and to whom ever needed help.
