Anna Enns passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 85 on Monday June 2, 2025.

Born in Chihuahua,Cuauhtemoc Mexico on October 18, 1939 to Cornelius and Anna Enns. She was the third oldest of her 9 siblings; Helena, Susana, Abraham, Aganetha, Katharina, Eva, Maria, Elizabeth and Martha.

Also left to mourn Anna’s passing are her four children; daughter Debbie and son-in-law Willy, daughter Brenda, sons; James and Timothy. Grandchildren; Jennavive, Robert and Shane. Great grandchildren; Taylor, Hailey, Elliot and Olivia.  Extended family; grand daughter, Dena and her children; Nevaeh, Hudson and Edyn.

In her passing Anna reunites with her three sisters Katharina, Susana and Helena who predeceased her.

Anna and her family came to Canada in 1952 and she became a Canadian Citizen on November 23, 1978.  July 18, 1959, at the age of 19, Anna married Gerhard Barg in Yarrow B.C.

Throughout Anna’s life she was a committed supporter of (MCC) Mennonite Central Committee, baking buns for their annual festival fundraisers. She also supported them by her frequent shopping trips and regular donations.

Anna was creatively inspired in so many areas; in her baking, sewing and patchwork quilting. She also loved drawing and creating coloring books for their children.

One of her greatest passions was gardening. She had a “green thumb” and had the most amazing gardens and household plants. Anna was also musically inclined, and in her earlier years she enjoyed playing her harmonica with a group of friends.  Her most recent hobby was doing crossword puzzles.  She said it kept her mind sharp.

She had a passion for reading the scriptures and watching her favourite preachers on her computer. She was baptized in New Westminster at the United Pentecostal Church in October, 1972 at the age of 33.

Anna loved the Lord, however her health struggles consumed her, but she believed that she was being healed through prayer over the years- her faith sustained her and gave her hope to carry on.

On June 2, 2025 The Lord said, “Anna, Come Home.”

John 14:1-3

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

In our hearts forever…

Until we meet again.
