Tribute

On November 22 at the age of 105, Anna Koop left this world to enter her heavenly home. Born in the Ukraine on June 4, 2014 to Jacob and Anna Braun, she was the third of four daughters.  She married Franz Harder in September 1935.  They were blessed with three children, Anne, Kathie and Frank before the chaotic war times forced them to flee their homeland.  A fourth child, Bernhard, was born in northern Poland.  Franz passed away in 1945 and Anna continued the trek to Germany alone with her four children.  They were able to immigrate to Canada three years later where she married Rudolf Koop in 1949.  They welcomed the addition of children, Rudy, Helen and Jake to their family.  Anna and Rudolf were overjoyed when their remaining son and family from the Ukraine immigrated to Abbotsford in 1990 and 1992.  Rudolf passed away in 2005 and Anna moved to Menno Terrace.  Soon after her 105^th Birthday, Anna transferred to the Menno Home where she received wonderful care until she passed away very peacefully.  Anna’s strong faith in God defined who she was until the very end.  A Memorial Service will be held on November 29 at 1 pm at King Road M.B. Church.
