April 6, 1925 - May 26, 2016
Tribute
Annie (Ann as we know her) was born April 6th, 1925 in Manner Saskatchewan, to Sam & Alice Bann. She had 3 older siblings, Edna, Frank and James…and later, a baby sister Muriel. Her father Sam, was the eldest of 12 children, who imigrated, with his family, from Glosup England in1905. Her mother died at age 28, when Ann was just 2 and Muriel was a baby. One of Ann's auties, Emma and husband Stanley Crawford, took her into their hearts and home and she became a little sister to their son Garnet. (Another Auntie, May and husband Jack Bulloch raised Muriel, with their children) The family moved to Alberta, where Ann grew up and attended business college and became an excellent secretary. In 1965 Ann married John Laird and together they made their home in the Sardis/Chilliwack area. John died in 2002.
Most recently Ann has lived in Chilliwack, where she passed away peacefully on May 26th.2016, with loyal friends at her side.
