Tribute

    It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annie on November 26, 2016.  She passed away peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 93 with her husband Jim by her side.  On November 19, 2016, Jim and Annie celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.     Annie was born at Bjorkdale, SK and ended up living in Saskatoon, SK.  Annie and her parents came to Chilliwack in 1955.  She worked at the Boy’s Shop and then started working in the ladies’ wear department at Eaton’s for 16 years.  Annie was active in the altar guild at St. Thomas Anglican Church for many years.  She was also a gold medal winner at BC Senior’s Games in lawn bowling.      Annie was always known as a very well-dressed, classy lady.      She is survived by her husband Jim, son Jim Jr. (Phyllis), granddaughter Theresa and great-grandchildren Roxanne, Nicholas and Amber;  grandson Scott and great-grandson Dylan;  siblings Marie, Benjamin and Beatrice.  She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Mabel, Cecil and David.     The family wishes  to thank the ICU unit and staff of Chilliwack General Hospital, the doctors and staff of Valley Family Practice as well as Rev. John Sovereign and the congregation of St. Thomas Anglican Church for the help and support.     The family is honouring Annie’s request that there be no funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing can donate to the BC Children’s Hospital in her memory.
