Arnold Henry Falk

September 13, 1936 - May 17, 2026

Tribute

Arnold was a kind and gentle man. He lived a life of faith in his Savior and dedication to his family. Arnold passed into his eternal home the morning of May 17, 2026. He was 89 years old.  Arnold was born in Comox, BC. September 13, 1936. He moved to a farm in the Mt Lehman area in 1941 and then to Arnold a year later. It was there at a young age Arnold accepted Jesus into his heart and was baptized as a teenager.

After his schooling in Upper Sumas and later at MEI. Arnold attended CBI where he met the love of his life Lena Dyck.  Arnold and Lena were married on May 4, 1957 and began a life together for 63 years until Lena’s passing in 2020.  They raised their family mostly in the Fraser Valley and Arnold found his calling in the  construction industry. Arnold was very creative at building and problem solving. He started out as a carpenter working for Lena’s brothers and then he ran his own company for number of years. He built over 40 homes in Abbotsford and Mission. He went into construction supervision with Falk Brothers industries in 1979 and worked there until he retired in 2002.

Arnold kept himself busy in retirement as a handyman as well as with building and renovation projects with his children and grandchildren. He served as the maintenance man in his condo for many years fixing things and overseeing many projects. He was always ready to help out.  He was a gifted artist in oils and pen and ink. He was a big fan of Bob Ross and the Joy of Painting. He also enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing which he rode until he turned 80.

The last 2 years of his life his health started to decline and he stopped driving at 87. He went into care at the Menno Home in October of 2025. He enjoyed teasing, entertaining the staff and making people laugh until his passing.

The most important part of Arnold’s life was his relationship with God. Arnold was never shy about sharing his faith. In his kind and gentle way he would tell people how his faith had sustained him through the good and tough times in his life. He loved others well and was well loved. He leaves behind a strong legacy of faith and commitment to God.

Arnold will be lovingly remembered by his children: Ron (Elma) Falk, Deb (Al) Thielmann, his 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. His siblings Elsie Falk, Hilda Heinrichs, Edna Enns and Luella Stobbe.  He was predeceased by his wife Lena, parents Henry and Margaret Falk, sister Elma, brothers Werner and Ervin.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Menno Home East 2 for making Dad feel accepted and loved.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date for family and friends.
