Tribute

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, opa and brother (passed surrounded by family).  He is survived by his wife of 54 years Berta (nee Mann), sons Bernard, Edward, Richard and his wife Maureen and their sons David & Daniel, sisters Helen, Else, Selma and brother Arnold.  Bernard was born in Mitrowka, Volinia, Ukraine on March  28, 1932. In 1954 at the age of 22 he immigrated from Germany to Canada where he continued in his trade as a commercial painter. In 1962 he met and married Berta in Vancouver, his wife of 54 years. They raised 3 sons.  Bernard was a dedicated family man with many talents. He enjoyed sharing his love for music with his children and grandchildren and participated in the church choir as well as volunteered to play guitar and sing for various groups within the community. He had a passion for artistic painting, reading and walks with family. He expressed his strong devotion and dedication to his faith in the Lord and challenged all in theirs in so that after this life on earth we would once again be together in the presence of the Lord.  We know the sadness and grief will pass and our memories of him will be with us forever.
