Beverley Joan Thorpe (Hillaby) passed away at the age of 87 years on Friday, January 24, 2025 in Abbotsford with the love of her children by her side.
Bev was born July 2, 1937 in Medicine Hat, Alberta to Chester and Marion Thorpe. Bev grew up with her siblings Loretta, Gloria, Margaret (Peggy), Geoffrey,(all predeceased) and Genevieve and George.
The family moved to British Columbia in 1942.
Throughout Bev’s life she was a wife, a loving mother, sister and amazing friend to many. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, the casino and of course her other love bingo. There had been many trips over the years with family and friends. Bev loved cooking meals for her family and friends or even just getting together to have a coffee and catch up.
She will be missed by son Geoff Smith, daughter Denise (Dana) St. Pierre, son Craig (Angela) Smith; sister Gen (Gary) Kindred, brother George (Tara) Thorpe, 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Society.
