Carol Nancy Griffiths (Beck)

May 26, 1952 - September 15, 2017

Tribute

It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Nancy Griffiths, announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer.  She passed peacefully with her children by her side on September 15 2017 at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission BC at the age of 65.  Carol grew up on the Beck family farm in the Sumas prairie region of Abbotsford BC. She had a fond love for animals and her compassion for all living things continued into a career as an exceptional and attentive Nurse serving the community of the Lower Mainland for 35 years.   Carol is survived and will be deeply missed by her two children, her son Jamie Griffiths and her daughter, Rhiannon Griffiths and her grandson, Sawyer Griffiths.  Carol was the eldest daughter of 6 children. She is survived by her sister, Eileen Drozdowski, and brothers, Larry Beck and Dennis Beck. She is predeceased by her parents, Lars Christian Beck and Louise Beck. She is also predeceased by her sister, Linda Beck and brother Norman Beck.  She will be lovingly remembered for her contagious vibrance, irrefutable strength and the kindness she showed to all she met along her journey.  She found great comfort and happiness spending time with her children, family and watching her beloved Blue Jays. Her sense of humour and beauty was with her to end and will live on with her memory.   Carol was a caring and devoted mother, grandma, sister and daughter, she will never be forgotten.   A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Sunday, October 29th from 12-3 at the Abby Arts Addition of the Abby Arts Center in Abbotsford BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol Griffiths’ name to the BC Cancer Agency are graciously accepted.

rhiannon, jamie, and sawyer, and family:
there aren’t words to express my sympathy for your great loss. i feel a loss as well of a precious friend, and co-worker. i was always amazed at your mother’s courage and positive attitude against all odds, clearly in a life struggle that even when she was on the losing end she was still so brave. on our visits, i would say to her, you are such a non-complainer, and she always took it in her stride, as if to say this is just who i am. i admired her. i certainly missed her on the surgical daycare unit at msa hospital…she never returned after cancer took it’s toll, i recall her bringing my favourite cookies to work, and i just loved them, so i tried to make them but that was a disaster!!!

Sorry for your loss
It’s always hard to know what to say
Anyway, sorry
