She grew up in Langley BC, with two hardworking parents. Carols dad, was an accountant for Ritchie Smith feeds ltd. Carols mom, was a nurse. She had a great childhood growing up. Carol loved to do sports growing up, she was in cheerleading, and figure skating. Carol also enjoyed her Girl Guide groups she was in. After high school, Carol got into fashion that lead she to do some modeling which she wanted to go into business after that. Carol was very successful with whatever she did. She always quoted “If I can put my mind to it, I can always achieve it”.
Carol did in fact achieved everything she did in life. Carol worked for a bank as a teller, and also worked at a few dealerships as a receptionist. In 1983, she met Charles Rennehan where she began dating him and knew she was going to marry him. . In 1982, Carol became a consultant of Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Carol enjoyed the art of makeup, Carol has been very creative throughout her entire life. Carol enjoyed learning new things, and being very independent of how it all worked. Carol went to so many conventions where the owner MaryKay Ash she met. MaryKay Ash said this a lot during her speeches during the conventions “Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.” Carol did do that, she believed in that quote and she kept pushing herself every single day at MaryKay to the point where she made director status. Carol made so many women’s lives better by empowering there way of feeling beautiful. She touched everyone’s hearts as she made them feel like a million dollars. Carol went on doing facials, selling products, and ordering for the next forty years. Carol put up her booth at the Abbotsford Exhibition Park on Canada Day, at the Tradex for the Women’s show, at the Abbotsford Agrifair, and the Berry Festival which is usually located downtown Abbotsford BC. Carol made a lot of clientele by women entering the contest with their information over the years. Carol would always do her MaryKay from her home, or would travel to customer’s houses to do there facial and bring products to sell if the customer was interested. Carol did some facials for some weddings as well. Carol has won jewelry, and lots of awards during the achievements of selling. In 1987, Carol and Charles married each other, to the point they knew they were going to love each other till the very end. Charles and Carol both worked very hard, their whole lives. Carol and Charles bought their first home in 1990. Carol and Charles always wanted three children to complete their life. Carol ended up getting pregnant, with the first in 1991, the second in 1994, and the third in 1997. In 1987, Carol and Charles decided to sell the first home they lived in, and bought their second home closer to Carol’s parents’ house. The names of the three children are Ryan, Matthew, and Shaylene. Carol could still work from home, so she decided to stay with MaryKay and be a full time mother and a director at the same time. When the kids started to grow up, Carol and Charles decided to take them on vacation destinations during spring break. One of the very first destinations, was Hawaii. Carol and Charles worked very hard days, to afford every destination vacation they went on before children and after they had children. Carol and Charles worked many hours to afford there cruises, they went on. Charles and Carol wanted their kids to grow up loving to travel and letting them know “Working hard always pays off in the end”. Carol decided to take them a bunch of places growing up to Cancun Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, Jamaica, Cuba, Across Canada in the RV hitting every single province and staying in the Walmart’s, Vegas, New York, Maui, and Honolulu. Carol and Charles traveled the world, by either cruising places or flying than staying in hotels and exploring the country that way. In 2023, Carol and Charles did three big trips they cruised to Alaska, Tahiti, and did all around Asia. Carol and Charles made a lot of connections on the traveling they did but for Carol she enjoyed every single minute of her time left on Earth. Carol really enjoyed her life and “Lived her life like she was dying”.
