Tribute

The family is saddened to announce that Dora passed away at the age of 91 at Cascade Lodge.  She emigrated to Canada from Poland (Ukraine) with her parents and sister Mary in 1930 aboard The Empress of France and landed in Montreal.  Her young days were spent on the homestead in Edmonton, then moving to Chilliwack.  She married John in September 1949 and resided on Riverside Drive for 58 years before moving to Cascade Manor in 2007 to be near Dad at Cascade Lodge.  After Dad’s passing, she continued living at the Manor till her health started to decline.  After a short stay at Eden she returned home to Cascade Lodge.  Dora is survived by Rosemary Merritt (Art), Steven and Doris Baron.  Grandchildren are Aaron Merritt, Chris Merritt, Kary Britch, Melanie Fritz, Shawna Britch, Jordan Decaire and Leah Decaire.  Great grandchildren are Arlo, Maeve and Finn Merritt, Dylan and Brady Merritt and Sequoyia Decaire.  Surviving her is her sister Ann Jesperson.  Dora was predeceased by husband John, parents Anna and George Feniak, Baby Beatrice, sister Mary Sales and daughter-in-law Glenda Monhay.  A special thank you to the staff at Cascade Manor and Lodge for all your dedication, care and kindness over the past years.  Private family gathering at a later date.
