Tribute
Dorothy passed away Wednesday, July 17th at McKenny Creek Hospice in Maple Ridge with her family by her side. She was an extraordinary woman who lived a long and fulfilling life. Predeceased by her husband Adam, daughter Beverly, son-in-law Jim and daughter-in-law Tracy. Survived by her sons Jerry (Nancy) and Brad, daughter Dianne (Ken), 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom was born in Watrous Saskatchewan to Joseph and Anne Marie Shafer. She moved to the Lower Mainland in 1946 where she met and married Adam. It was here they raised their family. They spent many hours “never getting lost, just exploring new territory” as they would say after one of their many Sunday drives. Mom's greatest joy was her family and friends and she will be dearly missed by all. She always had time and no-one was ever insignificant to her.We would like to extend our thanks to all the staff at McKenny Creek Hospice for their kindness, care and compassion extended to Mom and the entire family.Please join us to celebrate a wonderful Mom, Nana and friend on Saturday afternoon August 3rd at 12455 Grace St, Maple Ridge from 1:00 to 4:00. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Again thank-you Margaret.
