Earl Simpson

October 5, 1930 - April 17, 2015

Tribute

Earl died at the Abbotsford hospital. Thank you to all the kind care givers there. He leaves his dear wife Eleanor, daughters Deborah and Laurie, his (late) son Daniel, step children Sean, Mark, Heather, and Erin, as well as many other family members and friends in Canada and the US.

Earl worked for many years for the Federal Government. As an avid musician, he lent his skills as choir director and saxophone player to many ensembles throughout his life. Earl was also a supporter of Christian ministries that support less fortunate children abroad.

Rest in peace Earl. May the Lord bless you all!

John 14.

I was so sorry to learn of Earl’s passing. He always had a ready smile and kind word. Both of you seemed to enjoy our “Meet & Greet” New Year’s get-togethers at Marshall Grove Apts. I would like to attend his funeral or memorial, if that is permissible.

From: Ross and Heather Thompson
Relation: Dear Friend

It is with great sadness that I write this brief note on the life of Earl Simpson. I first met Earl when he joined the Sommerville Gardens Strata Council in the late 1990’s. I was the Council President and needed as much help as possible managing 83 property units. Earl immediately came to the for front and let the Council know of his vast knowledge and experience in dealing with governments, support groups, financial reports, and life in general. I took an immediate liking to this man as I realized that he was going to make my life a lot easier and more efficient. From the start Earl was able to let the Council know that our financial reports were inefficient and vastly incorrect for our immediate needs. Earl set up proper accounting records and accountability reports and we very quickly changed management firms as we were not getting truthful reports. Over the years Earl proved to being as valuable asset to our Council and neighbourhood and often you would find Earl, Al Saunders and myself doing inspection reports at all hours and making the Complex run smoothly, safely, and honestly. We were often called the 3 amigos. Earl was a great friend, mentor, and someone I called a true friend. When Earl and Eleanor moved to Abbotsford we would often talked for hours on the phone about every day life and what was happening in our two neighbourhoods. There was always lots of laughter and good comradeship. When Heather and I finally moved to Dewdney and with working all week on the road and every weekend on the farm; there was very little time for conversations. Still Earl and Eleanor were always in my thoughts and heart and called whenever I could. Earl was again a very dear and kind human being with much to give mankind, he was always willing to do reports and help anyway he could. I loved the man dearly for all his great qualities and humour and will sadly miss him. Thank you so much Earl as you gave so much of yourself and helped me become a much better human being. You passing has left a huge hole in my life; but I for one will never forget you. Thank you so much my very dear friend.
