Tribute
Ed passed away peacefully at the age of 101, Monday, April 3 in the Oxford Seniors Home, Abbotsford, BC . He was born in Beverley, Yorkshire, England in 1921. He served with the British Army during WWII, stationed in UK and India. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his family.
Ed was predeceased by his brother Bernard; first wife Mary; grandson Sterling; parents Georgina and Harold Ewen; his second wife of 45 years Serena; and brother-in-law Arthur Bell. Forever loved, not forgotten.
He is survived by his sister Theresa (Tess) Bell (UK); sons Colin, Trevor (Maria), David (Sandy), Greg (Paula), James, Kerry (Carmen); daughters Sirena and Elizabeth; and many grand, great-grand and great, great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to all the staff and volunteers at the Oxford for their care and attention. Ed enjoyed playing the piano and the socializing with the many people residing there.
Graveside service will be held Friday, April 14th at 1 p.m. at Hazelwood Cemetery, 34070 Hazelwood Avenue, Abbotsford. Reception to follow at 2 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel, 35035 N. Parallel Road, Abbotsford.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Serena and Ed Ewen.
