Tribute
Eleanor passed away peacefully with Jake, her husband of nearly 62 years at her side. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
Together they raised their four children, Mary-Ann (Alan) Dyck, Alice Wiebe, Eden (Brad) Jersak, Jake (Christine) Wiebe. She was Grandma to 9 grandchildren and Great-Grandma to 4. She also leaves behind her only living sibling Linda (Robert) Pearson. A private family graveside will be held now, and a memorial service will be held later when it is safe to do so.

Dearest Jake and family.
We were so sad this afternoon to read of Eleanor’s passing. I know we have not really touched base for years but perhaps its times like these that can motivate us to share memories and the impact people have in our lives. One of the greatest blessings a young family can receive when starting out in life is a supportive neighbourhood. The Wiebe Family became our “neighbourhood” when we moved in across the street in 1973. They had such a wonderful impact on us as they showed by example how happy large families can be. We will never forget sitting around their kitchen table as if it was our home. They adopted us and pretty soon we were catching chickens with the rest of them.
Eleanor was the most wonderful loving caring example of motherhood. It seemed as if nothing could ever phase her. I am certain there is a huge hole in the heart of the family today especially as there is no formal opportunity to bid farewell.
Please keep us posted as to the celebration of Life planned. We know full well she is now resting in the arms of her Lord and saviour. We pray for comfort for Big Jake and the family gathering to bid farewell.
