Elma Posein (Hiller)

Tribute
Elma Posein went to be with her Lord on April 29,2020 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at the age of 96. She was born on March 3,1924 in Millet, Alberta.
On June 26,1941 she married the love of her life Alfred Posein. Elma and Alfred began their married life farming in the Millet, Alberta area. May of 1961 they made a move to Chilliwack B.C., buying a farm on Lickman Road. In spite of Elma being busy, she found time to work at the Stardust Motel for a number of years. Upon retirement, Mom and Dad were able to travel with their motor home which was a delight for them.
Mom’s hands were rarely idle. Her bag with crochet cotton and hook went with her everywhere – just in case she had a minute to continue working on the countless dishcloths, hand towels, pot holders, with which she kept the family well supplied. We also have beautiful afghans made by Mom’s skillful hands.
She spent her spare time doing cross word puzzles and reading books. She loved recipe books and magazines, and her baking and cooking skills were enjoyed by many.
She leaves to mourn her four children: Orville (Elfrieda) Posein, Phyllis (Erwin ) Goretz, Ronald (LouDell) Posein, Karen (Monty) Fetterly, brother-in-law, Lorne Lund. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her children and her 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
Elma was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, her parents, brother and sister.
Celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. As a family we wish to express our sincere thanks to the caring staff at Cascade Manor, which was her home for the past two years, and to the Chilliwack General hospital staff for the care of mom during her last days. Also a special thank you to Dr. Paul Basson for his many years of caring for Mom.

Relation: Her son and daughter in law , Orville and Elfrieda lived across the street from us for over 20 years so we had the pleasure of knowing Grandma and Grandpa Posein when they visited and they always had treats to share with our girls as well!!
