Tribute

Erna Dorotich passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 7, after a long and courageous struggle with a Parkinson’s’ related illness.   She is predeceased by her husband, Larry Mercurio and their young son, Michael after a car accident in 1980.  Ten years later she married Kaz Dorotich who passed away of a heart attack in l993. Despite all these tragedies she had an amazing ability to still find joy in life and to be a thankful person.  She filled her life with volunteering at the Red Cross, taking challenging courses, and hosting many delicious dinners for family and friends.  She will be missed by her brother John (Ruth), Julius (Nettie) brother-law Jake Krahn, and sister, Regina (Gerd), step daughters Sonja (David), Anita Dorotich and step grandsons Christian and Elijah Dorotich.  She was and always will be a special part of the extended family and she will be especially missed by her many nephews and nieces who loved her dearly and have been the recipient of her love and caring.  There will be a Memorial Service for Erna on Saturday, Sept. 16th at 4 pm at Peace Mennonite Church, Richmond, B.C.
