Ernest Norton

July 14, 1937 - April 6, 2015

Tribute

Passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Predeceased and now reunited with his wife Gladys and son James “Jimmy”. Will be greatly missed by daughters Laura (Steph) and Maureen, and grandchildren Carlos, Oliver, and Maxine. Ernie was an elevator mechanic and member of the IUEC Locals 82 and 89, lover of all sports, and made friends wherever he went.  Thank you to the outstanding nurses in the ICU at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

There will be no service. Dad was not a lover of formal events. Think of him fondly and raise a glass in his honor.

From: John abd Gloria Greenwood
Relation: Very good golfing friend and brother in the Elevator Industry

We send our sincere sympathy to the family and will forever appreciate and remember the friendship we shared with Ernie and Gladys over the past number of years. Both with fun golfing and the many years building elevators! We are thankful that we made the trip to visit with Ernie while he was in hospital and now he is happy being back with dear Gladys and more than likely enjoying a few brews! Our best wishes to all the family and friends of Ernie and Gladys

From: Neil & Lois Robertson
Relation: As parents of our daughters soccer/softball years.

Our heartfelt condolences to Laura and Maureen and their families on the passing of Ernie. Ernie was one of my greatest and most dedicated supporters when I coached Maureen and my daughter, Julie, through their soccer and softball years. We were fervent supporters together while watching Laura and our daughter Leanna through their soccer battles. Ernie was always upbeat and will surely be missed by all who knew him.
