Tribute

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Fernande Siemens on March 30th, 2024 at the age of 97 years old. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing in Abbotsford, BC.  Born in Ste. Annes on December 22nd, 1926, she is survived by her only daughter Dorothy (Blake), sons Danny (Bonnie), Marvin (Lee), Randy (Christie) as well as her brother Odilas; grandchildren Christopher, Joy, Paul (Monique), Brittany, Cameron (Eden), and Katerina; great grandchildren Malaihka and Tobias and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Frank and son Wayne, parents Jean-Baptiste and Octavie Lessard; brothers Antonin, Eloi, Norman, Leo, Rolland, and sisters Leonie (Schwartz), Hermance (Prairie), Gertrude (Lavigne), Yvonne (Pelland), Lorette (Ryback).  Fernande brought so much love, light, and care into so many lives. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Fernande spent most of her life living in Winnipeg but for the last 10 years of her life lived with her daughter Dorothy (Blake) in Abbotsford, BC. She continued her passion for gardening and past-time of playing 31 with her family.  Fernande will be remembered by all those whom she touched. She will also be remembered for her resilient but kind spirit. She was a rare gem, a precious soul and one of a kind. She will live in our hearts forever.
