Tribute

Frank Toews passed away peacefully at home with his wife Mary by his side on March 5, 2021, at the age of 96.
Born April 18,1924 in Reinfeld, Manitoba, he was the last surviving sibling of eight children.
He moved to Abbotsford in 1947 with his family and began a long career driving truck, which he did until his retirement in 1990. He married Mary (Loewen) on May 19, 1962, and after a brief move back to Winnipeg, they settled in Abbotsford and raised their two boys here. After retirement Dad and Mom spent many years traveling across North America (always driving), making it to the east coast several times. Dad loved to tinker and fix things and spent many hours in his workshop with his grandchildren, building projects, fixing things, and just hanging out. He loved his God, his family, and his church (Olivet) where they attended for 52 years. He volunteered and was involved in many boards and committees over the decades, including the position of deacon for 19 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary, two sons, Richard Toews and Wayne & Wendy Toews, grandchildren Courtney & Oliver Boles, Brad & Michelle Toews and Nicki Toews. There will be a small private graveside service at this time, with a memorial to be scheduled at a later date.
We want to thank Home Support and the Palliative nurses who were so very helpful in allowing Dad to stay at home to the end.
Thank you for a life well lived Dad. You will be missed.
