Gary Wisk
August 23, 1958 - January 29, 2016
Tribute
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gary.
Born in Red Deer, AB and lived in various places in BC before finally settling in Abbotsford. Gary was the middle child of 5 and is predeceased by both his parents; David & Joyce Wisk, his brother Ron and sister-in-law Christine Courtney.
He is mourned by his wife and best friend of 36 years, Janette, and their 2 loving children and their spouses; Greg (Louise) and Denise (Stuart). His family loved him dearly and is very proud of how he lived his life and especially his profound bravery through the ALS journey.
He flourished in his careers and especially in his final career of sales for Snap on Tools. It was with great pride that he had the respect of his customers because he helped them solve problems and not just sell them every piece of equipment.
Gary loved his family above all else, always wanting the best possible life for them. He left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered, forever, for his zest for life and his love for his family and close friends.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 Sun Feb 28/16 at the Clubhouse in Cedar Springs Estates, 4001 Old Clayburn Rd, Abbotsford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of BC which has been extremely helpful through Gary’s jouney.

Our deepest sympathies to Janette, Greg and Denise, together with their spouses, on the loss of their beloved husband and father. Gary was one of the kindest and funniest men I knew and he quickly became part of my family. He was also the bravest man I knew, fighting the incurable and horrible illness of ALS, but speaking through an electronic device once he lost the ability to speak, racing in his motorized chair when he lost mobility in his legs and breathing through a machine when he was unable to breath any longer. He was a champion and a hero. A great debator, he never conceded defeat. He fought at the end to live each day and never conceded to death either. We miss him deeply.
