George Rybkowski

Tribute
late of Abbotsford, left us September 19, 2014. Born April 19, 1924 in Warsaw, Poland to Karol and Stefania Rybkowski, he is survived by his wife Teresa, daughter Kinga (Matt), son Konrad, daughter Deborah (Peter); and grandson Dorian; sister Marylki and niece Martyna other relatives and friends. George was a member of the Polish Home Army and took part in the Warsaw Rising in August 1944. He joined the US Army as an interpreter and the Polish Corps in Italy. He was honorably discharged in England in 1946 and arrived in Canada in 1947. He worked as a General Manager at Safeway in Calgary for more than 30 years and at the Abbotsford Seniors Hall for over 20 years. George loved to sing, dance, be social, dress sharp and keep fit and healthy. He will be greatly missed by family and friends of all ages. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Maplewood House for the excellent care they provided for George. His life will be celebrated Saturday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Road, Abbotsford.
