Gerald Samplonius

Tribute
Passed away at Abbotsford Regional Hospital after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Gerald was born in Ruigahuizen, The Netherlands, and came to Canada in 1951 with his parents and six siblings.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, to whom he had been married for 52 years. He also leaves behind his children, Robert (Maggie), Linda and Tom. He was pre-deceased by Paul Edwards. He has two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He is also mourned by his brothers Homer (Pearl), Fred (Charli), Bill (Sharon), John (Lynn), and Sidney and his sister Tina (Joe Horkai).
After many years of working as a dairy farmer, Gerald and Dorothy enjoyed a long and good retirement, traveling in their pick-up and 5th wheel trailer to many destinations and including twice yearly fishing trips to Puntzi Lake.
A graveside service is planned for Thursday, March 12th 2020 at 11:00 AM at Abbotsford’s Hazelwood Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Living Hope Church, 34631 Old Clayburn Rd., Abbotsford.
