Tribute
With sadness we announce that Gertraud Dirks (nee Scheffler) of Abbotsford (formerly of Black Creek) passed away on March 16, 2014. Gertraud was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany on November 7, 1935. She is predeceased by her brother, her parents, and her sister. She is survived by her loving husband Werner, four children, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters, as well as many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly and will remember her fondly. We give thanks to the staff at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Center, and the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission for their excellent professional care in the past few months.
A memorial service will be held at South Abbotsford Church, 32424 Huntingdon Road, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Christine Morrison Hospice.
