Harold John Guthrie

Tribute
Harold “Give Away” Guthrie passed away August 17, 2018 in Abbotsford with his son, daughter, granddaughters and grandson at his side. We held him, spoke with him and prayed with him. He was a wonderful father, supportive to his children. He was a giant, his wife Marge a saint.
While living in Dawson Creek, Dad was involved in Ladies’ fastball, managing and coaching the AW Arrows. He goal judged and refereed hockey for the local Junior teams. He worked as a Ford salesman with Aspol Motors. He was a member of AA with a great following, lots of visitors over lots of years. He will be buried at Greendale Cemetery, 44651 Watson Road in Chilliwack Saturday, September 1 at 2 p.m.

Relation: Harold was my AA Mentor and a very good friend
I’m very sorry to hear of Harold’s passing. He worked with my wife Patty at Allied for many years. It was through that connection that he began his work with me and my journey in AA. Over the past 30 years he became a mentor and good friend. I attended many of his AA cakes hearing him say time and time again “If I take you where will you take me” I know that he and Marge are together again and I know that that would make him and her very happy. I will miss a great deal. I am very disheartened that I missed his service. I know many AA memebers who feel the same. I have a medallion I bought for him but I never got to give to him. I’d like to place it with him at Greendale Cementry if the family approves. I would also like to ask permission to do a Celebration of Life for Harold at the Alano Club in Abbotsford.
