Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold John Hillmann (67). Harry passed away on September 29, 2016 in Vancouver at VGH after a long courageous struggle with pancreatic cancer. Harry was born in Chilliwack on December 19, 1948 to John and Erna Hillmann. Harry is survived by his wife Connie, and their two children Tammy (Joe) and Richard (Sara); his grandchildren Emily, Nathan, Lucy and predeceased by Amy. He is predeceased by his brother Irvin, Harry’s sister-in-law (Bridgette) and nephew (Derek) live in Ottawa. Harry will be remembered for his kind and generous nature.
His lifelong love and involvement in music included playing the accordion at the Alpen Club, and teaching all four grandchildren a note or two.
Harry and Connie enjoyed spending time at their family trailer in Harrison Hot Springs.
His working career was in the automotive industry spending many years with Ford and then Toyota. He embraced the friendships that he made with his colleagues throughout his years of work.
A sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at VGH.
Memorial donations may be made in Harry’s name to the BC Cancer Agency at 600 W. 10th Avenue, Vancouver, V5Z 4E6.
A private service with be held with family.
