Harold Orval Peters
January 28, 1940 - July 3, 2022
Tribute
Harold Orval Peters, born January 28, 1940 met his loving Saviour face to face on Sunday, July 3, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Kerry Lynne (Davidson) of almost 56 years and their daughters Laurie (Sheldon) Rempel, Kim (Cam) Broad, Lynelle (Chad) Melton, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, siblings Myrtle (Carl) Loeppky, Evelyn (Phil) Anderson, Leroy (Verna) Peters, Lloyd (Eileen) Peters, Elda (Russ) Baker, Jeanelle (Rod) Derry, 2 sisters-in-law, Maxine Kossman and Shirley Lewis and numerous nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents John and Martha Peters and brothers Melvin and Dennis Peters.
Harold grew up on a farm in the Langham, Saskatchewan area. At 18 years of age he committed his life to Christ. He went on to Bible School and university before marrying the love of his life, Kerry. Together they spent many years serving the Lord in Mali, West Africa and Kansas City, Missouri with GMU/Avant Ministries.
He was passionate about sharing the gospel and seeing people come to Christ. Even in retirement he continued to be engaged in ministry, particularly St Petersburg Christian University in Russia.
Although he struggled with his health the last 1 1/2 years, his outlook was always the same; positive, courageous and engaging with family and friends until his last day here on earth.
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
The celebration of life will be held Monday, August 1 at 3 pm at Grace Church, 2087 McMillan Road, Abbotsford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avant Ministries @ avantministries.org in memory of Harold Peters.
