Tribute

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helmut Wiebe who went home to his Lord and Saviour on May 2, 2021 at the age of 80. Helmut was born to Cornelius and Maria Wiebe (Unruh) on December 10, 1940 in Filadelfia, Paraguay.
In an effort to provide for a better life for the whole family the parents decided to make the long journey to Canada in April 1958.   The oldest daughter stayed behind as she was married.   They initially settled in Steinbach, Manitoba but later that year moved West to Clearbrook, British Columbia.

In early 1961 Helmut moved to Vancouver searching for employment and started his plastering and stucco career.  Later that year he met his future wife and they married on July 27, 1963.  They were blessed with two lovely daughters, Linda in 1965 and Diana in 1967.

In 1970 the family moved to Clearbrook, BC.  It was during these formative years that Helmut was determined to be self-employed and successfully created his own plastering and stucco business.

Some of his favourite pastimes were travelling, road trips, camping and fishing with his family and friends.

Helmut joins his parents and brother Neil in Heaven. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara, and his daughters, Linda (Geordie) and Diana (Bruce) along with his grandchildren Jeff, Michelle (Josh), and Cole. He is also survived by his siblings Irene (Erich), Hilda (Rudy), Erica (Ted), Ernie (Mary), Marlene, Hugo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A small celebration of life may be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
