Tribute
After patiently battling cancer for 2 years, Huibert passed away peacefully in his home in the early evening on June 7th, 2015. Whether we liked it or not, he always had a plan for everything in life and this was no exception. He always has and always will take care of us.
Huibert is lovingly remembered by his “Sweetie,” Arlene; their 5 children: Brian, Kevin (Jackie), Mike (Cindy), Kyle (Tracy) and Alisha (Kevin) and his 13 precious grandchildren: Cory, Chelsea, Shania, Tyson, Cole, Nick, Nathan, Carson, Alison, Makenna, Chace, Bryce and Hayden. He is also survived by 6 siblings: Jack (Donna), Tina (Sid), Jean (Dick), John (Grace), Jan (Wendy), Rose (Herb) and many other loved ones.
Huibert thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and he will be greatly missed. Although it is hard to say goodbye, we are feeling comforted by the wonderful memories that we have and in knowing that he is finally in a better place, without pain and suffering. A memorial service was held at Gateway Community Church on Friday, June 12th, 2015.
As you rest now, from your almost 73 year journey, you should know that you have made your family proud. You were a great husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. You will be forever in our hearts. Rest now, you’ve earned it.
