The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  Psalm 27.1 (Irene’s lifelong favourite verse)


Irene died peacefully having lived a full life, on Thursday, March 9th, 2017 at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission,BC, after falling ill in November 2016. She will be deeply missed by her children, John [Donna], Peter, Eduard [Jane]; grandchildren Adrian, John, Jamie, Daria [Oscar], Sarah; and great-grandchildren Diego and Daniel; her dear relatives and families, and friends; the congregation at FUMC, and; her friends and care providers at Menno Court in Abbotsford. A memorial service will be held at First United Mennonite Church, Vancouver on Friday, March 17th, 2017 beginning at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee [MCC Canada].
