Isabelle (Irene) Irene Balzer (Cooper)

June 16, 1939 - February 11, 2022

Tribute

Isabelle Irene Balzer (nee Cooper-Newall) was born June 16, 1939 in
the home of a midwife in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan.
Isabelle grew up on a farm in Porcupine Plain with her parents and 4
sisters.  Having no brothers, the girls learned many chores and tasks
that would have been considered boy’s work.
Isabelle was an exceptional student, always at the top of her class.
After graduating from High School, she went on to nurse’s training at
Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, Sask. Isabelle loved being a
nurse.
Isabelle married Scott Newall on May 20, 1961 and together they had 2
sons ~ Douglas (January 26, 1965-August 1984) and Gordon (November 4,
1966-December 18, 2017)                    Together the family spent
many summers together at their cabins ~ one at Setting Lake and
another at Waskasui, Saskatchewan.  In 1995, Gord married his
sweetheart Joanne at the Setting Lake cabin and they had a son, Scott.
Isabelle and Scott were thrilled to have a grandson.
Scott passed away in 1993 and after being single for 10 years,
Isabelle met and fell in love with John Balzer and they were married
on February 28, 2004.
John and Isabelle loved traveling together as well as serving with MB
Missions.
Together they visited Australia, New Zealand, the Maritimes, the
Ukraine, Rwanda, Malawi and varies places throughout North America.
Together they shared 7 grandchildren, whom they adored. All the
grandchildren will miss their Grandma greatly ~ Kyle, Quinten, Scott,
Lille, Rocco, Scarlett and Hayven, as well as their 2 great
grandchildren ~ Rowan and Freya.
In early November 2021, Isabelle was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
She quickly had surgery and radiation treatment, trusting God that she
would be healed ‘either here on earth or in heaven’.
Isabelle was generous and joyful in spirit.  She loved everyone she
met and would share the love of Jesus, even in her last days on earth.
