Born June 26, 1911 in Norwood, Winnipeg, Manitoba, the third son of Frank and Alice (nee Wellman); a descendant of the Kidd Clan of Ontario. He lived in Winnipeg until the age of 8 when his family moved to Montreal. He lived there until 1925 when they moved to Brantford for two years and then to Toronto until 1942. He enlisted in the RCAF and was posted to Mossbank, Sk to No. 2 Bombing and Gunnery School and was on staff for a year. He took a posting overseas and married Rose Rudge of Point Claire while on embarkation leave. He was posted to #418 Mosquito Squadron and went from England to Belgium and then to Holland when hostilities ceased. After discharge from the RCAF he went to work for Remington Rand in Toronto and was subsequently transferred to Vancouver. He left that company and moved to Penticton and bough an office supply store, started a typewriter service and repair. He sold the business after 8 years and moved back to Vancouver where he worked for Willson Stationers. He worked for Hughes-Owens Co. until retirement and remained in North Vancouver. Rose passed away in August 1990. Jack moved to Chilliwack in April 1992 and passed away January 12, 2013 in Abbotsford. The interment of his cremated remains will take place in the family plot at the Cathedral Church of St. John in Winnipeg. Many thanks to the Galati family of North Vancouver who were very close friends for many years.
