James Harold Wright

Tribute
On April 19, 2017, in Abbotsford, BC, Jim went to meet the Saviour he loved and served since age 12. Predeceased by his parents, Jim and Ada Emily Wright, he is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia, sister-in-law, Diana (Roy), nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews; also many cousins. Born in Vancouver in 1929, he attended General Brock Elementary School and John Oliver High. An alumnus of UBC, Jim was a teacher of languages in Kamloops, Prince Rupert and North Vancouver, retiring from Carson Graham Secondary in 1988. He was happiest when at the piano as an accompanist, or playing for a church choir or congregation. Jim met his wife, Patricia, when she came as guest vocalist to Oakridge Baptist Church, where they were married in 1968. Upon his retirement from teaching, Jim and Patricia moved to the Fraser Valley, finally settling in Abbotsford, where they both served at Central Heights Church. There, Jim particularly enjoyed his ESL classes of mostly adult Koreans. Jim based his life on Jesus’ promise – “…whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” John 11:26
