Tribute
Jerry with a “J” no other way, was a one of a kind. Fiercely stubborn, set in HIS ways but loyal, passionate and his love knew no bounds. He might have had that tough exterior, but those of us who got to know him understood the heart he had underneath. Family, country, and community were his passion.
He played a part in the BC Junior Hockey League first with the Abbotsford Eagles/Pilots and then the Chilliwack Eagles prior to them moving to Surrey but continued that love, passion and dedication to the Chilliwack Chiefs. He remained an Oilers and Eskimos/Elks fan even after many years in Chilliwack wearing his jersey proudly as he was always a Bawlf, Alberta guy.
He served his country in Germany, Egypt and Cyprus with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI), Queens Own Rifles of Canada and the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP).
Now pain free with the love of his life and family, “Peace be your journey!” We loved him and will miss him deeply but will strive to make him proud everyday.
