We noticed Mrs. Ernie’s obituary in the Vancouver Sun. She was a truly wonderful addition to our lives. We have yet to find a better caraway and sourdough rye!
Every time we would enter the lovely neighbourhood bakery, Mrs. Ernie would greet us with her beautiful smile and joyous attitude. She made our time at the bakery absolutely delightful.
I remember that I would come in and she would ask me to sing songs. During one visit, I sang her the song Alice The Camel; the next time I visited, she had invented a new bread – Camel Bread. And she told me it was inspired by my song. I felt famous! And she even attended my Bar Mitzvah! She had a great way of making one feel like they were the most important person in the world when she was with them!
We are truly sorry for your loss, as we were sorry for ours when the bakery closed! We wish you love, strength, and a sense of peace, harmony and unity during this sad time. We hope that Mrs. Ernie lived a satisfying and fulfilling life, full of as much love as she delivered to us upon each visit!
Be well,
Dave and Anneliese.
