John Friedrich Wegenast

May 18, 1957 - September 25, 2022

Tribute

John passed away tragically Sunday afternoon at one of his favourite places, Sumas Mountain.
John made friends wherever he went. An active member of Greendale MB Church for 30 years, John was well-known and well-loved in his community. After a long career in the dairy industry, in retirement John enjoyed serving alongside his son Jesse with the 5 and 2 Ministries in Abbotsford.
Loving husband to Valerie for over 40 years. Father of James (Julia) Wegenast, Jesse (Sharalin) Wegenast and Vanessa (Stuart) Dueck. His 10 grandchildren brought him great joy.
He will be forever missed and always remembered.
Funeral service will be held Saturday,  October 1, 2022 at 2 p.m.  at Central Heights Church, Abbotsford.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the 5 and 2 Ministries (The5and2.ca)

My condolences to the family. Herzliches Beileid. John seemed to possess boundless energy. He was my supervisor at work in the dairy plant. It was my privilege to have worked with him. We stayed in touch after we left the company.

Liebe Familie Wegenast!

Dear Val and family, We are in disbelief that this boisterous, crazy, loving guy has passed! He had such a huge personality and we so enjoyed sitting around the campfire with him. His sense of humour and infectious laugh were easy to identify…yup that’s John! Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you try to navigate life without him.

My dear Val.. Tom and I have felt so saddened by the passing of John. He was such a wonderful guy! We just chatted lately about how special it was right after our wedding when we came to see Tom’s family and you and John gave us a bridal shower.. that was so sweet!

It was so special to go with you and John to grad. He adored you so much. We are praying for you my friend.. you are loved so much! Love Helen and Tom
