Joseph (Joe) Michael Woldanski
December 3, 1948 - May 15, 2026
Tribute
Joe passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2026 at the age of 77. Born and raised in Alberta, Joe grew up alongside his many siblings in a hardworking family that shaped the values he carried throughout his life.
After completing his post-secondary education, Joe made the big journey west to British Columbia, a trip he fondly spoke about, especially the memory of seeing the Rocky Mountains for the first time and being mesmerized by their size. Joe settled in the Fraser Valley, where he began a long and successful career, retiring after 35 years.
He continued to remain close with his brothers and sisters over the years and always maintained a strong connection to Alberta, returning often to visit family and spend time helping on the farm whenever he could.
Joe had an incredible ability to recall details about almost anything mechanical. Whether it was machinery, vehicles, railcars, or engines, he was the person others turned to when they needed answers. He loved talking shop to anyone who would listen and always enjoyed looking for his next great deal.
On his farm, Joe enjoyed raising cattle and spending time with family, friends and neighbours. He especially loved driving around on an ATV, whether here or in Alberta, taking his grandkids on endless quad rides.
Joe loved good food, good conversation, and the comforts of home. Some of his favorite things in life were napping, watching hockey and his wife’s home-cooked meals, which he always looked forward to and desperately missed when she was away.
He will be missed by his wife of 53 years, children, grandchildren, siblings, and extensive family and friends. His wife and kids would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the hardworking Home Health team and staff at TRIM who took great care of Joe these last few years.
After a lifetime of road trips, family adventures, and annual journeys back to Alberta, it’s fitting that Joe is “on the road again.” We hope there’s good food, familiar company, and a stash of chocolate bars waiting for him when he gets there.
In keeping with Joe’s wishes, no public memorial service will be held. His family will celebrate his life privately. Those who knew Joe are invited to remember him in their own way and, if they wish, share a memory or tribute here.
