Tribute
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine Mary-Louise Henschel (Cassidy), on February 9, 2017. Born in Cochin, Saskatchewan on February 21 1925. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Pauline Cassidy, her loving husband Edward, her brothers Bill, Jack, Jim, Mike, and sisters Marge, Lil, and Verla. She is survived by her daughters Marilyn (John) and Shirley, her grandchildren Tamara (Tony), Dean, and Jason (Carey-Anne), her great grandchildren Cassidy, Jayden, Madison, Justin, best friend Irene, inlaws, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Josephine was a trailblazer with a zest for life. Jo had a wicked sense of humour that never ceased to make us all laugh and it stayed with her right till the end. Jo was known for her love of cribbage, pool, the one arm bandit and parties which always ended with her dancing up a storm. The Cabin at Birch Bay welcomed all, and Oh if those walls could talk. Josephine had many careers and accomplishments, but her greatest joy was her family. She had a special relationship with everyone in her family, and made each one feel loved and cared for. We know that she is looking down on us now, together with her beloved Ed. We will miss you mom, grandma and Gee-Gee.
