Katharina (Katie) Bargen (Braun (Enns))

Tribute
Katie was born April 4, 1929 in Neuendorf, Ukraine to father Hans Braun and mother Elizabeth Braun (Neufeld). She passed away June 3, 2026 in Abbotsford.
She is survived by her children Gary Enns (Barb), Elfreda Krueger (Vic), Elvena Neufeld (Ted), Erv Enns (Nancy), Elly Meyer, and Ed Enns (Sue); as well as 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two children Laura Erickson (Gerald) and Rose Meyer.
Katie was baptized in May 1947 and emigrated from Ukraine. She landed in Hallifax in October 1947 and took the train to Winnipeg.
Katie met Peter Enns, her future husband, when he came to Winnipeg in 1949. They were married in Winnipeg on August 6, 1950.
In March 1951 Katie and Peter moved to BC where Peter’s brother Walter lived to pursue work opportunities.
Peter passed in December 2000.
Katie met Henry Bargen and their wedding was in Vancouver on October 16, 2004.
Katie sold her home in South Vancouver soon after the wedding and moved into the Garden Park Tower in Abbotsford with Henry.
Henry passed in November 2012 and Katie continued to live in Garden Park Tower on her own until she passed.
