Tribute

Ken Sr. passed away in White Rock, B.C. at Peace Arch Hospital as the year drew to a close. The past few months had been difficult for him physically, but he managed to remain in his home with his family’s support up until his final days.

Ken grew up in North Burnaby where he had many good friends, and was known as “Vibes” by his buddies.  He had a long and successful career at Kal Tire, rising to become a district manager in the Lower Mainland. His work led him to Prince George, Kamloops, and various Lower Mainland locations.

Ken was an avid sports fan, spending many hours watching his favourite teams – the Vikings, Blue Jays, and Canucks. After moving to White Rock, he relished the time that he spent at the beach reading and people watching.  He also enjoyed keeping up on the daily goings on in the hotbed of what is U.S. politics at a very high volume!

Ken is survived by his sons, Ken Jr. and Keith; his daughter, Charlene; his stepchildren Becky and Chad; and, his siblings Lorraine and Bill. He was predeceased by his wife, Dianne; his parents, Bill and Doreen; his sister Barbara; and, his brother Bob. Ken has eight amazing grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Ken fought hard to make it through Christmas. He passed away peacefully on New Year’s Eve, after visiting with family who were at his bedside that evening. He’s in all of our thoughts. Rest in peace, Ken Sr.
