We are sad to announce the passing of Lawrence David Young (Larry), age 82, on August 23, 2022 in the Abbotsford Regional Hospital.  He is lovingly remembered by his family; wife of 57 years Donna (nee Hinch), daughter Tara (Bruce), and son Todd (Sue).  Larry is also survived by 3 grandchildren who brought him great joy, Charlie, Matt and Jordan. Larry was predeceased by his dear sister Barb. Larry leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Larry was born in Vancouver in 1940 to David and Mary, and the family moved to Nanaimo in 1950.  Larry and Donna married in 1965. Larry and Donna established themselves in Nanaimo where they started their family and lived happily for many years.  For the majority of his career Larry worked as an electrician at Harmac, before retiring and moving to Abbotsford, BC to be closer to family.

Larry loved curling, camping, fishing, skiing, traveling, golfing, seeing new places and making friends wherever he went. He particularly loved his winters in sunny Mazatlan and the community of friends he and Donna formed there.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Rest in peace ‘Big Lar’/Papa, we love you!
