Lora Anna Siemens (née Voth), age 86, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Abbotsford, BC. Born on June 11, 1939, in Coaldale, Alberta. She was the 8 th child in a family of 9 children. Lora lived a life marked by compassion, service, and devotion to her family, friends and faith.
Lora pursued her dream at The Galt School of Nursing, where she earned her designation as a Registered Nurse. Her passion for caring for others was evident throughout her career and personal life. Whether tending to patients or nurturing those around her, Lora brought warmth, kindness and dedication to every task she undertook.
Her deep faith was a guiding force from an early age. She received the Lord as her Saviour at age 11 and was baptized at age 13. Throughout her life, she remained actively involved in church ministry. Alongside her husband Jack, she served as a care group leader and contributed in many other roles including Sunday school teacher, greeter, and Festival Committee member. Her commitment to her church community reflected the same loving spirit that defined all aspects of her life.
Lora made her home a place of welcome, warmth, comfort and happiness to all who entered. She valued her family, her many friends and enjoyed entertaining in her home. She loved to bake buns, cinnamon buns, chocolate chip cookies, and Christmas cookies that were cherished by all who tasted them. A skilled seamstress, Lora sewed clothing for her family and even created dance costumes for a friend—each stitch a testament to her care and creativity.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Rene; son Darren; daughter-in-law Rhonda; and grandchildren Melissa, Stephen, and Mark. Her legacy lives on through them and through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.
Lora was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack; son-in-law Kevin; parents Isaak and Susie Voth; and parents-in-law John and Sarah Siemens.
Lora’s life was one of quiet strength and unwavering faith and love. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
A celebration of Lora’s life will be held on September 19, 2025 at 1:00pm at Central Heights Church, Abbotsford, BC.
