Lynne Marie Jeannette Powlik (Bernier)

October 23, 1943 - September 27, 2021

Tribute

Peacefully on the afternoon of September 27, Lynne passed away at the age of 77. Lynne was a loving and caring woman who held family close to her heart. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 54 years, Gerry; daughters Laura, Karen (Karl) and Sandy; sister Raye (Bill); sister-in-law Lorraine; three grandchildren Renée (Ryan), Dylan and Isabella; family and friends.

An active teacher (Gr. 7 French Immersion Blacklock Elementary), golfer, curler, gardener, knitter, volunteer (BC Golf Association 2011 Volunteer of the Year, Thrifter’s Paradise), CWL member, national certified golf referee, she was the life of the party and a friend to all. She was a beautiful soul filled with endless joy, love, generosity and kindness. She greeted everyone at any moment warmly and with a hug and a smile. Lynne will forever be a guiding light and source of love for us.

There will be a prayer service at 7pm on Tuesday, October 12 and a funeral mass at 10:30am on Wednesday, October 13 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church: 20676 Fraser Hwy, Langley, BC. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the reception following will be by invitation only. I am so sorry to hear about Lynne passing. Lynne and Gerry were good friends of my parents, Dennis and Bev Chobotar. I know my parents are thankful that they had had a good visit just a few weeks ago. Lynne really lit up a room and took a genuine interest in everyone she spoke to. We will greatly miss seeing her. Sending our thoughts and condolences to you all.

My deepest sympathy to Gerry and family. Lynne was a great friend and neighbour to everyone in the curling, golf, Snowbird, travel, and happy hour communities. She always made you feel welcome and never leave her home without a Bacardi and coke under ones belt. May she rest in peace!
