Malinda Schmidt

Tribute
Malinda Mary Schmidt was born on November 12, 1932 in Main Center Saskatchewan: the sixth child of Abraham and Justina (Schroeder) Janz. She died in Abbotsford Regional Hospital, September 23, 2011.
She attended a one room Elementary School at Low Farm , High School in Main Center and four years at the Briercrest Bible School at Caren Port, Saskatchewan. At the age of eleven, Malinda was baptized in the Main Center Mennonite Brethren Church by immersion in the South Saskatchewan River. She was always ready to testify of her life in Christ Jesus. After her father died she moved to Saskatoon with her mother and her sister, where in 1956 she attended Normal School to become a teacher. At the same time she met her husband, Hugo Schmidt. They were married in 1957 and had a happy 54 years together. Malinda is predeceased by her daughter Denise (1965-2002). She leaves behind her loving husband Hugo, her daughter Betty Lou Godard (Wendell) and their children: Talia, Tessa, Ethan & Gabrielle. Her son, Roger (Wendy) and their children: Zoe, Aaron and Audrey and her predeceased daughter’s husband Randy Erickson and their two sons: Taylor and Silas.
Viewing will be from 9:30 -10:30 AM and the memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on October 3rd, at the Northview Community Church, 32040 Downes Rd.
