Tribute
Fred Krahn of Abbotsford, BC passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026 at the age of 78.
Fred dedicated over 50 years to BC’s poultry industry and served in leadership roles with Egg Farmers of Canada and on provincial and national agricultural committees. A respected voice in the farming community, he was know for his principled leadership, unwavering integrity and commitment to advancing agriculture in British Columbia.
Above all, Fred’s greatest joy was his family. His steadfast loyalty and deep love for Judy, his children and his grandchildren were the foundation of his life. Fred had a generous heart and a passion for helping others, quietly supporting charitable causes and those in need. His vibrant personality and genuine warmth made him a natural connector who valued meaningful relationships with family, friends and colleagues alike. He enjoyed golf, fishing and following the Toronto Blue Jays, and he treasured the time he and Judy spent traveling together.
Fred is survived by his wife Judy; his sons Dale (Jody), Jonathan (Danielle) and James (Courtney); his daughter Cynthia Benedict (Dave); 15 grandchildren; his brother Hans (Rosetta); and his sisters Anne Jesse (Vic) and Helen Jesse (Harry).
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 1 pm at Northview Community Church, Abbotsford, BC.
