Tribute
Maria-Luise Neufeld was born in Suckwitz, Germany, January 15, 1935. The family moved to Guestrow in 1937. Due to the danger of the Russian army, which occupied that part of Germany; they fled to Berlin, West Germany. In 1949 they were able to emigrate to Canada; initially the family stayed in Yarrow. In 1949 they moved to Vancouver, where Maria-Luise finished high school, then attended a teacher’s college and began teaching in 1956. She was a devoted and very competent teacher for 36 years. She retired in 1993.
Maria-Luise had several hobbies, painting and travelling. In 1963 she married Alfred Neufeld. In 1968 they became happy parents when Alfred Michael was born.
Throughout her life Maria-Luise put her trust and faith in her Lord and Savior and it was this faith that carried her through difficult and happy times.
