Tribute
Baba passed away peacefully February 28, 2013. Born July 29, 1922, she was a pillar of strength, always putting her family first Baba was understanding and encouraging, loving her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children: sons Ron (Andrea) and Cec (Shirley); daughters Gayle (John) Smeltzer and Judy (Graham) Stebbe. Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband Nick, also by her father & mother and four brothers. Baba was an avid gardener, and willingly shared her expertise and plants with family and friends. She was also widely known for her fabulous culinary dishes. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, march 8 at 11:00 am. At St. Matthews Catholic Church, 16079 – 88 Ave., Surrey. Fr. Augstine Obiwumma celebrant. Interment will take place at Valley View Memorial Gardens in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross, 14644 -72 Avenue Surrey. Lunch to follow at St. Matthews Parish. The family would like to thank Care Life Fleetwood Spruce House for their support, kindness and professionalism during Mom’s stay with them. Baba loved flowers and they would be gratefully accepted. Baba was a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who was loved and respected by all. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

We all missed the obituary in the newspaper and having just learnt of your sad news, we want you to know that your mother’s friendship throught the Army and Navy work days were very special to our mother. Also, all of us have fond memories of your mother’s kindness and friendship. We very much regret that we were not at your mother’s funeral due to just learning of her passing. Your mother will be sadly missed.
