Melbert Ferguson Lloyd Rouse
March 2, 1946 - April 1, 2026
Tribute
Lloyd passed away with his daughter by his side on April 1st, 2026 after struggling with his declining health for several years. Predeceased by his wife Heidi.
Lloyd was born in Wiarton Ontario to Bert & Alice Rouse, the eldest son of 11 children.
Lloyd was Adventurous, Resourceful and Ambitious.
When he was young he joined the Canadian Airforce & served for over 12 years. Gaining education & job experience while travelling the world he met his wife while stationed in Germany. They travelled & camped together extensively throughout Europe every chance they got while raising the first of their two daughters, Kristina; making a multitude of life long friends before returning to Canada. Then travelling across the country visiting family before choosing to put down roots in Maple Ridge BC , where they became part of the community & spent the remainder of their 38 years of marriage. They welcomed a second daughter, Jennifer & afterwards Lloyd became an LPN. Together they had many friends and family & were a social couple. Hosting family from all over there was always a reason for a party or a backyard BBQ. They were also very involved with the Union in their workplace Ridge Meadows Hospital. When they became Opa & Oma they doted upon their only grandchild Miranda, relishing life with a new generation. Later in life they became Snowbirds and spent winters in Mexico. It became their second home and where they met another community of friends. Lloyd continued to travel to Mexico every year after the death of his wife Heidi in 2013, until his health made it difficult to travel. Dad was an avid reader who enjoyed good music and spending time in nature hiking, camping & boating. Spending summers on the lake house boating, traveling with his family in his RV and hiking in the Golden Ears. These were the moments he lived for.
Sitting by the water a beer in hand is where he felt most at peace.
Lloyd will always be forever loved & remembered by his family:
Daughter Kristina & SIL Steven, Granddaughter Miranda Rouse (All from Alberta)
Jennifer & SIL Jason (Fraser Valley BC)
His remaining 5 siblings in Ontario:
Sister Darlene (Jerry), Brothers George (Joan), Angus, Ron & Calvin along with their extended families.
“At peace now with his wife Heidi
he will be deeply missed. ”

My oldest Bro! Not only was he a brother but one of the kindest people would ever meet. We didn’t lose a brother we gained another powerful Angel.
I never actually got to meet you until I was older in life because you were in the Air Force overseas. But for some reason, I felt like I knew you forever.
I remember the cuckoo clock you brought from Germany and how much mom loved it. It drove me nuts at night when I couldn’t sleep it would always remind me of the time lol.
As I got to know you, you’re more than just a brother you always made me laugh. I love the times that we spent together, I wish I could have some more. But that’s what we always say when the loved one passes away..

I feel grateful to have known him, even in a small way. I will always remember his warmth and the deep appreciation he had for his home and community. I remember him holding a beer in his hand, smiling and sharing joyful stories by the pool. I never saw him without a smile on his face.
Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace, reunited with Heidi.

I’m heartbroken over the loss of my oldest brother, Lloyd — but to me and all his family members we called him Cub or Cubby. He truly loved his family and friends with all his heart, and that’s something I’ll always admire about him.
He built a beautiful life in BC with his family, then purchased a condo in Mexico where they spent many months of the year enjoying the sunshine. They met so many amazing friends there who became like family, especially after the loss of Heidi. He loved sitting at the pool at the condo drinking a few beers with the many friends he met there. After a few beers out would come the spoons which he would tap along with the music that was playing. That was just who he was — loved having a good time, and everyone loved being around him.
I’ll forever hold onto the memories, the laughter, and the love we shared with him and his wonderful friends at the Mexican condo. He leaves a space that can never be filled, but also a lifetime of moments I’ll cherish every day.
Rest easy, Cubby. You will always be missed and never forgotten. ❤️
