Tribute
Meta, at the age of 99, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on January 4, 2017 at Menno Hospital (E1) surrounded by loving nurses, care staff, her daughter and son-in-law. Born in 1917 in Drachten, Friesland, Netherlands, she immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario in 1949 with her late husband Siebe, who passed away in 2009, eventually settling in London, Ontario. In the early 1970’s they retired to Abbotsford, BC. Meta is survived by two sisters, Afke and Hillie and one brother, Libbe in the Netherlands; her children John (Ingrid) and Vic (Elizabeth) in Ontario and Anne (Ron) in Abbotsford; her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A private ceremony will be held Wednesday, January 11th at Trinity Christian Reformed Church and she will be laid to rest with her husband at Sunnyside Lawn in White Rock. On behalf of the family we would like to thank all the staff at Menno Hospital, both past and present; who cared for Mom so lovingly over the past 5 years.

Beste familie. Van harte gecondoleerd met het verlies van jullie moeder, grootmoeder en ik neem aan ook overgrootmoeder. Meta Postma was voor mij, zoon van haar broer Douwe, tante Metje. Ik kan mij niet heugen hoe lang geleden het is, dat ik haar gezien heb, maar op de foto die jullie bij deze online tribute hebben toegevoegd, herken ik haar nog heel goed. Ik hoop dat het jullie verder goed gaat. Hier bij ons in Nederland, nog altijd in Drachten ook nog eens, gaat alles crescendo!
